Why do junkyards have dogs
The truck comes fully loaded with a grungy looking and apparently vicious dog that refuses to disembark when Jerry drives the truck away. Ultimately it is the dog that gets Jerry out of his many fixes and back together with his girlfriend, Samantha Julia Roberts. Many reviewers have given the dog in this film better acting grades than to any of its marquee stars.
Just one look at this canine creature and you should have no trouble identifying an actual junkyard dog in the future. Hannon, Keith. USA Today, Feb 17, 5. I had my own memorable encounter with a junkyard dog on New York State Route 12 sometime in I was hitchhiking south toward Binghamton. As I was walking along the road I came to a junkyard or a salvage yard. There were a bunch of sorry looking vehicles on the lot and piles of car parts.
There was also a dog predominantly Shepherd but hardly purebred with a very deep-throated growl. Von Rigg Fink , Nov 30, Joined: Jul 11, Posts: 8, Profile Page. Often times,Salvage yard owners are what their customers have made them into Customers are just as often tearing up more than they buy, swiping stuff, backing out of sales, returning either parts they F-d up installing or even another old part not even bought from the yard, getting injured, bringing small children with them[list goes on and on] One has to really wonder how most salvage yard owners are as charming as they are as a result Joined: Nov 4, Posts: 3, Profile Page.
I have been lucky too I can spin a yarn or two and I think that helps when I go to these old yards. Yes these guys have nothing to do so you are their sounding block. If you don't talk to them they act mean and grumpy. I was at one yard up north FL doing a fire investigation also the "police" impound yard I spent two hours talking to the guy and his son about racing and old cars. THEN they let me wander around and found an old fire truck engine that was very interesting.

She was a witch. They had cars all up in the oak trees, brush so thick you couldn't see 5ft One day we tried to steal a carb after she walked to her house for lunch. After about an hour up in the trees, we came down with some little parts and the carb zipped in the tool bag.

But giving them a core is restocking there shelves. There not rebuilding it! I just think they should call this fee something else and not hide behind a "core charge" MrC. Up until about 10 years ago, there was a yard in Comfort, TX that had stuff from the s - 70's. The old man who owned it was notoriously grouchy and sometimes wouldn't even let people enter the yard at all.
I started going there when I was 14 and staying with my grandmother during the summers. I've always had a way with these types of guys Over the next few years, he got to where he'd let me wander the yard by myself I think that's the key with the quirky, grouchy types That same grandmother used to say, "If your mouth is moving, you ain't learning anything". Does not know what he needs or whats. People do steal The owner has taxes, insurance PLUS trying to make a profit.
Having a junkyard dog is perfectly legal in Pennsylvania, so long as the animal has access to food, water and shelter. Ban Life on a Lot believes the dogs deserve more, particularly if they've come from an animal shelter whose goal is to get them in good homes. Barzeski, the group said, adopted his dogs from the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in , but didn't tell the organization that the dogs would live at his auto dealership.
That said, it's not illegal," Marano said. Marano said PSPCA investigators have visited several businesses to check on dogs that live outside, including at several of Barzeski's auto lots in the city, and found no violations. She said her office spends a great deal of time explaining to the public that guard dogs aren't illegal. Absolutely not," she said.
Ban Life on a Lot, which has more than likes on Facebook, plans to present its guard-dog ideas to Philadelphia's Animal Advisory Committee soon, including the possibility of a registration or special licensing, training and education for the owners, and mandatory veterinary checkups. The group is researching whether any other states or cities have done anything similar. Sarah Speed, the Pennsylvania state director for the Humane Society of the United States, said she wasn't aware of any laws specifically dealing with guard dogs in the state.
